We provide lessons from the convenience of your home. If you prefer, we also offer the option of hosting the lesson at a home studio in Syosset.

Our small business model allows us to keep overhead costs low, which means that we can pass those savings on to you and offer much lower rates than larger music academies.


Track Record

15 years of proven results, including top grades at NYSSMA every year. Our students are able to use their accomplishments to give an extra boost to their applications to the most selective universities in the country. Students also have the option to prepare for exams at the Royal Conservatory of Music or prepare for recitals in local concert venues.


Customization

Each student will be given a unique lesson plan tailored to their ambitions, time commitment, and skill level. Whether the end goal is entrance to a music academy or simply performing a Christmas song for their family, we make sure that each student gets the results they want. No matter what their level, all students regularly have a chance to showcase their work at regular recitals.

Our Teachers

Sophia Guiza

Sophia Guiza has spent most of her life immersed in piano and received her formal music education and masters degree in Moscow, Russia. She has over 30 years of experience teaching piano to students from all ages and backgrounds. In her free time, she expands her skill set by attending specialized workshops in music education and following the latest developments in the industry. She is listed as an accredited teacher by the Royal Conservatory of Music and is also a certified Steinway Educational Partner. Her students have received top scores at NYSSMA assessments, passed exams at the Royal Conservatory of Music, and have been accepted to the Manhattan School of Music.

Ilya Ishchenko

Ilya Ishchenko began his piano career at the age of 8 in Russia. After graduating from Music Academy in his hometown of Buzuluk, he moved to pursue advanced music studies at the the Long Island Conservatory (New York) with Prof.Tamara Poddubnaya. He has performed at festivals in many different countries, including Russia, Holland, Germany, and the USA. Ilya is also the recipient of numerous awards at music competitions, including winning the grand prize at the prestigious Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition and the Elite International Music Competition at Carnegie Hall.

Perform

We encourage all our students to participate in performances and recitals. Syosset Music Academy organizes yearly recitals for students to meet and showcase their hard work. Our next recital will in at the Steinway Piano Gallery in December 2019.
